This project started as a trail maintenance project and finished with the construction of whole new 4 km circuit. In 2014, Caminando Panama joined forces with Patagonia to clean and fix up a short 800-meter trail that led up to a unique lookout of the Panama Canal. While this project was being conducted, a series of trails and roads made during the time (1940’s) that the United States managed the area were discovered as well as a small trail made by local recreational fishermen looking for the catch of the day. This led to a trail design process that produced a trail that now provides views of canal fed lakes and tropical wildlife to many urban hikers!
